Air Calin resumes normal Japan service

15:09 pm on 13 April 2011

New Caledonia's international carrier Air Calin will resume its normal schedule to Tokyo this weekend after altering flights for a month because of the nuclear emergency in Japan.

This means that Air Calin will resume its non-stop service between Noumea and Tokyo and no longer include a stop-over in Osaka.

The airline had made the change to decrease the exposure of its cabin personnel and pilots to radiation from the Fukushima disaster.

It says the Japan service accounts for half of its staff's flying time.
