Henry interested in England role

Outgoing New Zealand rugby coach Graham Henry says he's interested in a role with English rugby.

Henry crowned a glittering coaching career last Sunday with the All Blacks' victory over France in the Rugby World Cup final.

He told the Daily Telegraph newspaper he would be interested in working with the England Rugby Union, not as coach, but in a possible development role, as English rugby attempts to rebuild after a poor World Cup campaign.

Henry, whose own position came under threat after the All Blacks' unsuccessful campaign in 2007, also warned of the dangers of knee-jerk sackings.

He said too many people with real ability get shot because of a result, adding the most successful coaches around the world have longevity.

Henry pointed to Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson as a prime example.
