Oxfam in Vanuatu has distributed fast growing seeds to assist with recovery efforts in the wake of Cyclone Donna in the northern Torba Province.
The director Lisa Faerua said that strong gale force winds and flooding destroyed many food gardens and Oxfam's contribution was part of the government's recovery strategy.
She said the organisation sent seeds that grow fast such as corn, beans and bok choy.
"Yes its already been despatched and its been distributed up to the Torba Province. So that is why for us it is important for us to give seeds so that it can end up with the mothers [who can then] manage households with healthy food on the table," said Lisa Faerua.
Lisa Faerua said they also have 80 taupaulins they can donate to assist families who need to collect clean water from the rain.
