The Christchurch City Council has set up a new trust to manage its large social housing portfolio.
The council will keep ownership of its 2270 social housing units but they will now be managed by the Otautahi Community Housing Trust.
The trust will be responsible for tenancy management, rent-setting and day to day maintenance.
Seven trustees have been confirmed for the trust, including deputy mayor Vicki Buck and the councillors Andrew Turner and Paul Lonsdale.
The remaining four are independent trustees.
