A couple of injuries to All Blacks have marred the Chiefs and Hurricanes wins in Super Rugby.

Loose forward Sam Cane left the field with a concussion in the Chiefs 28-12 win over the South African side the Bulls in Hamilton.

Meanwhile Ardie Savea limped off Suncorp Stadium with a calf injury as the Hurricanes beat the Queensland Reds 34-15 in Brisbane.

Chiefs co-captain Cane left the field after just four minutes and didn't return.

The Chiefs will today assess him and prop Nepo Laulala, who also suffered a head knock, before they head off overseas for three games

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie will name his travelling squad later today with the team heading off tomorrow for games against the Stormers, Cheetahs and Western Force.

"We need to make a bit of an assessment and find out where these guys are at, the fact we're away for three weeks, maybe they'll be available for the second or third game," Rennie said.

Meanwhile Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd confirmed Ardie Savea had a calf injury.

"The injury will most likely keep him out of the Waratahs game next Friday , while forward Sam Lousi has a shoulder injury that will probably keep him out of next week as well."

Boyd said it was a tough battle against the Reds.

"I think our changing room is probably more dinged and more tired than I can remember in the last two and a half years, the boys are spent."

"Fortunetly we've got three or four guys coming back over the next week... Corey Jane will be available for selection along with Vaea Fifita and hopefully Dane Coles will be also."

All Blacks fullback Ben Smith has had time off recently following a concussion and he was a late withdrawl for the Highlanders game against the Melbourne Rebels on Friday night with a hamstring injury.
