NZ A captain Doug Bracewell picked up a further four wickets in the first innings for a first-class haul of 15-5-42-6, the new captain leading the way as the hosts dismissed the visitors for 298 in 88.3 overs.

It was Bracewell's second first-class bag for New Zealand A with a previous best of 5-78 for the side; and his 10th first-class bag overall.

West Indies A opening batsman Shayne Moseley had carried on from his unbeaten 56* overnight to reach his first first-class century for West Indies A, to go with three previous hundreds for Barbados before he was caught behind off Bracewell on 110 in the 81st over.

West Indies A rapidly fell away after the wicket as Bracewell and his Central Stags teammate Blair Tickner (2-34) mopped up, leaving Romario Shepherd stranded on 77 not out.

Taking a 183-run lead into their second dig, New Zealand A belted a quick 174 for seven from just 27.5 overs before Bracewell again declared - giving his attack eight overs before stumps to try to get a late breakthrough in the action-packed afternoon.

For the West Indies, spinner Rahkeem Cornwall (3-37) finished his bowling duties with six for the match.

Coll wins first round in Egypt.

New Zealand's Paul Coll has set up a second round clash with Egypt's Mostafa Asal at the men's Squash Open in Cairo.

Both men won their first round matches, with World No.4 Coll beating Frenchman Victor Crouin in straight games.

The clash with Asak will be a rematch of their dramatic match in the quarter-finals of the Egyptian Open in October, where Asal got the better of Coll in a nail-biting five-game battle in front of the Great Pyramid of Giza to reach his maiden PSA Platinum semi-final.

The second round match will be played early on Wednesday morning NZT.

Pakistan lose captain Babar to fractured thumb for New Zealand T20s

Pakistan's hopes have suffered a big blow with captain Babar Azam ruled out of the three-match Twenty20 series against the Black Caps after fracturing his right thumb during a practice session.

The batting mainstay will not be able to attend practice for at least 12 days, the Pakistan Cricket Board said, and he faces a race against time to be fit for the opening match of the two-test series from Dec. 26.

Babar's injury came a day after top-order batsman Imam-ul-Haq fractured his left thumb, also during a practice session.

Pakistan's T20 vice-captain Shadab Khan was also carrying a groin niggle, the cricket board said.

The first T20 will be played in Auckland on Friday.

Leaders Tottenham held to draw at Palace

Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane scored his ninth Premier League goal of the season but Jeffrey Schlupp's late equaliser left the leaders frustrated in a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.

Kane struck in the 23rd minute with a low long-range shot that deceived Palace keeper Vicente Guaita as Tottenham began in confident fashion in the Selhurst Park drizzle.

But Palace responded impressively to dominate after the break and Schlupp grabbed a deserved leveller from close range in the 81st minute.

Ben Davies struck the crossbar and Guaita made stunning saves from Kane and Eric Dier as Tottenham sparked back into life late on but they had to be content with a draw.

Tottenham moved to 25 points from 12 games, one ahead of second-placed Liverpool who play at Fulham later.

Borussia Dortmund sack manager Favre after Stuttgart defeat

Borussia Dortmund have sacked manager Lucien Favre following the weekend's 5-1 loss at home to promoted VfB Stuttgart, the German Bundesliga club said.

"We are all grateful to Lucien Favre for his excellent work over the past 2-1/2 years, in which he and his team won two runner-up championships. As a professional and as a person, Lucien Favre is beyond any doubt," Dortmund chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke said in a statement https://www.bvb.de/News/Uebersicht/Borussia-Dortmund-trennt-sich-von-Lucien-Favre.

Favre, who previously worked at Hertha Berlin and Borussia Moenchenglabdach in the Bundesliga, had taken over two years ago.

But Borussia Dortmund have failed to seriously challenge Bayern Munich for the domestic title, and Favre's contract ran out this summer.

The side had also failed to win any of their last three league games, dropping to fifth in the league. They have, however, advanced to the Champions League round of 16.

Assistant coach Edin Terzic will be in charge until the end of the season, the club said.
