The search for a missing fisherman in Glenorchy has been suspended for the night.

The man was reported missing shortly before 3.30pm yesterday afternoon near Benmore Place at Lake Wakatipu.
He was reported missing by a friend fishing nearby and was last seen fishing near the shore.
When the search continued today, the police national dive squad joined in.
The search is expected to resume at 8am tomorrow morning.
