A person has been killed after a glider crash at Nelson Lakes, police say.
The glider crashed on Sunday at Lake Station airstrip, at Howard in Nelson Lakes, a police statement said.
"The aircraft crashed on the runway and the occupant sadly passed away at the scene."
The Civil Aviation Authority was advised, and investigators had started an examination of the scene.
