The Wellington Phoenix striker Roy Krishna has been named the A-League's player of the month for January.
The Fiji captain bagged six goals in as many appearances last month, with consecutive braces against Western Sydney, Central Coast and Melbourne Victory.
"I'm very grateful that people they have voted for me but my main focus is for the team and hopefully that continues this month as well," he said.
"I'm looking forward for the game on the weekend (against Sydney FC) so thank you to the people that voted for me."
The 31-year-old Krishna is second on the A-League scoring charts with a personal best return of 12 goals in 19 appearances so far this season.
"I'm just enjoying every week and Mark (Rudan, the coach) has given me the freedom to believe in myself, which I was lacking last season, and that shows on the pitch," he said.
"It all comes down to the pitch and on training. The other boys are helping me out and as age goes you get more experience and that helps me too but you've just got to work hard and get into the right space."
Roy Krishna ended a four game scoring duck in a 1-1 draw with Melbourne Victory in Auckland on Friday, on his return to a city where he spent six seasons playing for Waitakere United and Auckland City in the New Zealand domestic competition.
While his emphatic close range finish, in front of over 20,000 supporters at Eden Park, wasn't enough to secure all three points against the current A-League champions, Krishna said both teams had their chances and it was probably "a fair result".
Krishna is off contract at the end of the season but wasn't keen to talk about his future, referring all comment to his manager.
The 2016 Olympian acknowledged he would like to resolve his contract situation before the end of the current season but said he was focused with matters on the field and helping the Phoenix finish the season strongly.
"Obviously yes but like I said my main focus is not about me. I've just got to perform every week and whatever comes I'll be happy. The main target for this season is to get this club to the playoffs and that's what I'm focusing on."
The Phoenix are back in action this Saturday against Sydney FC.
