Susan Austen, 65, is facing two charges of importing the sedative narcotic pentobarbitone, a Class C controlled drug.

She appeared in Wellington District Court this morning.

Judge Ian Mill remanded Ms Austen on bail to reappear in Court in April.

The case arose after police used a breath-testing checkpoint to target voluntary euthanasia supporters as they left an Exit International pro-euthanasia meeting in Lower Hutt.
