A man charged with the murder of a Kaitaia baby has been granted continued name suppression at his second court appearance.
The 22-year-old Kaitaia man appeared in the High Court in Whangarei this morning before Justice Toogood.
The judge has also suppressed the name of the baby girl and a second child who the man is charged with assaulting.
The baby was less than four weeks old when she died of head injuries at her home last month.
The man has been remanded in custody for a report on whether he is fit to stand trial, and is due to appear at the end of May.
