Primary Industries Minister Nathan Guy expects to have some glad tidings for exporters and farmers on Wednesday when he releases updated export projections for the primary sector.
He says export volumes and returns have lifted in the six months since his ministry issued its last situation and outlook report.
Last June, MPI made a forecast on growth rates and returns for the next 12 months.
Mr Guy says he has a snapshot on progress after the first six months, and says "it's really exciting".
The sector is worth $32 billion in exports at present, and he plans to soon announce some more good news.
"All our farmers and marketers are doing fantastic work," Mr Guy says.
