Fijians have been urged to engage with established travel agents, who are accredited with the International Airlines Transportation Authority.
This comes after the Fiji Consumer Council said it received 43 complaints against travel agents in the country.
Council chief executive Seema Shandil told FBC News some of the cases had been referred to police.
She said the complaints included people not receiving their tickets despite making the required payments.
Ms Shandil said the monetary value of the complaints was about $US28,000.
