Hans Christian Tommarck - also known as Christian - went hunting by himself on 12 May and did not return as expected last week.

Police believe they have spotted his campsite from the air.

Five search teams have been combing the valley today, and the search has ended for today, but will resume tomorrow.

Polcie said the search was hampered by the tricky terrain and the need to rotate searchers.

They believe the 27 year old hunter is in the upper parts of Regina Creek.

An alpine team, a search and rescue dog and volunteers have all been working on the operation.

Weather conditions today have been vastly better than yesterday.
