The Cook Islands Investment Corporation that's overseeing the redevelopment said the project was well on schedule for commissioning before the start of the 2018 academic year.
The Corporation said the completion of Tereora College was part of an overall vision to provide greater learning opportunities in the Cook Islands.
The New Zealand government gifted the money in recognition of the Cook Islands 50th anniversary of self-government in free association with New Zealand.
