A murder inquiry has been launched after the death of a Hastings man, who suffered major facial injuries nine days ago.

Edward Anthony Peters, known as Eddie, was found in Diaz Drive in the suburb of Flaxmere with unexplained injuries just after midnight on 16 November.
He died surrounded by whanau in Wellington Hospital yesterday morning.
Police are asking anyone with information that could be relevant to the investigation to contact them.
