A man is being treated in hospital after being assaulted in Ohakuri, south-eastern Waikato, last night.

Two ambulances attended the scene on Tutukau Road after receiving a call just before midnight.
The 21-year-old was taken to Waikato Hospital by helicopter.
A hospital spokesperson said he was in a stable condition and was under observation in the emergency department.
