Maori Party co-leader Tariana Turia says Labour MP Shane Jones should mind his own business, instead of talking about her future.

Mr Jones claims that Mrs Turia is being put under pressure by the Prime Minister to stay on in Parliament, rather than step down at the next election in 2014.

He says it's part of John Key's strategy to keep the Maori Party in the ring as a potential support party for National after the election.

Mr Key denies that, saying if he thought he could convince Mrs Turia to stay he would, but he hasn't tried to do so.

Mrs Turia says she is looking forward to retiring and is not reconsidering her future.

She says Mr Jones should concentrate on his own party, rather than commenting on others.
