The leader of Fiji's National Federation Party Biman Prasad said it's laughable if a complaint has been made to the country's anti corruption agency about one of his public policy statements.

He says he had not been interviewed by FICAC but he has learnt it has received a complaint against him from the Fijian Elections Office.

FBC News reports the complaint was understood to have been lodged after Professor Prasad said he would give all the Air Terminal Services shares to ATS staff if elected into government.

The company has been embroiled in a dispute with some of its employees who own 49 percent of the company.

Professor Prasad said if that is what the complaint is about, it has no merit.

"The electoral law very clearly states that the law does not apply to a public policy announcement or a promise of public action," he said.

"If it is in relation to a public policy announcement then I would think it is quite laughable that a complaint has been made."
