Auckland Rugby League has obtained a court injunction stopping the national body's general meeting on Saturday.
The grounds for the injunction relate to the establishment of the northern zone under the New Zealand Rugby League's planned zone structure.
In a statement, the New Zealand Rugby League said it would examine the judgment after receiving it, but the meeting could not go ahead.
It said the decision would not stop it from implementing the reforms approved at last year's general meeting and it would negotiate with Auckland Rugby League to resolve the issues it has raised.
