The Northern Marianas are recovering faster from last month's Super Typhoon Yutu than it did from Typhoon Soudelor in 2015, authorities say.

The Homeland Security and Emergency Management Office said a month after Yutu, power had been restored to most of Saipan and nearly the whole island had running water.
The number of people seeking public shelter has also been reduced to nearly half. the office said.
Power on the island of Tinian is still out but water is now fully restored.
From over 1000 people in evacuation centres following Yutu, the number dropped last week to just over 520.
The Public School System and the Northern Marianas College are on target to resume classes next week.
It took about three months for power to return to Saipan after Soudelor in 2015 because the typhoon battered the island's main power plant and hit central government offices.
