15:39 pm on 22 October 2014

The man accused of murdering a baby in South Auckland can now be named.

The five-month-old baby girl, whose name is suppressed, died in Pukekohe in August.

Police said she was found with a fractured skull and a broken leg.

Name suppression for the accused man, Troy Solomon, ended today in the High Court in Auckland.

But suppression orders still prevent Radio New Zealand from revealing how Mr Solomon was connected to the child. He will stand trial in September next year.
