Clutha water measures aim to avoid severe restrictions

14:02 pm on 26 November 2017

Water restrictions will be brought in for the entire Clutha district from Friday.

Clutha District Council service delivery group manager Jules Witt said that from 1 December, people can only water their garden between 8pm and 8am.

Residents shoud not leave water systems or sprinklers on unattended and needed to make sure the water was not being wasted, he said.

The restrictions were about getting people into the habit of conserving water, and hopefully avoiding more severe restrictions if dry conditions continue, he said.
