Samoa's Minister of Justice and Court administration has won a defamation case he brought against a woman who claimed he was drunk and driving on the wrong side of the road.

The defendant's claim was aired on Talofa FM Uaea Mosooi radio talkback show last October.

But the minister, Unasa Mesi Galo, denied the allegation when the Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, after hearing the claims on the radio, sought an explanation from Unasa.

The Chief Justice, Patu Falefatu Sapolu, fined the woman from Savaii island 4,500 US dollars.
