Police remain at attack site in Hutt

Police forensic officers will today continue examining the scene of an axe attack in Upper Hutt that left a woman dead and others injured.

A local contractor, Retimana Te Korou Nicholls, appeared in court on Friday charged with the woman's murder after the attack on Thursday night.

The 36-year-old was also was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm to two men and assaulting another woman.

Detective Inspector Darrin Thomson said officers were still carrying out investigation work in the suburb of Timberlea, and expected to finish today or tomorrow.
