The French Red Cross in New Caledonia has distributed much needed emergency aid supplies to assist one hundred families on Lifou island.
The island is located 158 kilometres from the capital Noumea.
Spokesperson Jacqueline Johnson said up to 130 homes on Lifou were reportedly damaged from Cyclone Donna but they have yet to visit Ouvea.
She said they have had four volunteers who have been very busy helping those in need there.
"We distributed some survival kits, clothes, kitchen kits - that sort of stuff - and shelter kits for the population."
"And I think they distributed let's say from Wednesday to Friday around 30 kits and from Friday to Sunday 70 kits."
"The organisation has been working closely with Securite Civile and the New Caledonia government to provide aid assistance to worst affected areas," she said.
