Judge Becroft calls for discussion on lowering voting age

The idea of lowering the voting age to 16 has been around a while -- but it's never got traction in New Zealand.

The former MP Sue Bradford couldn't get the idea past the Greens caucus in 2007, nor again when she raised it in 2011.

But the Children's Commissioner Judge Andrew Becroft says now's a good time to discuss it.
