Foreign Affairs officials in Papua New Guinea says they are working with their Solomon Islands counterparts to extradite Noah Musingku back to PNG.
PNG's Foreign Affairs Secretary, Evoa Lalatute says his government is negotiating with Honiara for the extradition of Musingku who's wanted for running the failed U-Vistract pyramid scheme in Port Moresby.
Musingku, who's in Honiara without proper travel documents, offered the Solomons Government a 350 million US dollar grant under the Royal Assembly of Kingdom and Nations.
PNG's High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, Ponape Yuwa says while the two countries do not have an extradition treaty, Commonwealth provisions allows his government to begin the process of trying to get Musingku arrested.
Mr Yuwa says however that the Solomons police first apprehend him on behalf of his government .
"We all come under the Commonwealth system and so there a set of conventions applying to extradition.....The Solomon Islands police and other law enforcement agencies have to say here we are,....we have found somebody who is on the run, and you know, our PNG police cannot come and do the job for Solomon Islands."
