Tottenham and Man United coast through Europa League first-leg

Football's Europa League got back underway today with the first-leg of the Round of 32 ties completed.

Manchester United thrashed Spanish side Real Sociedad 4-0 away to put them in a comfortable position ahead of the second-leg.

Meanwhile, Arsenal drew 1-1 with Portugal's Benfica setting up a wide-open tie in the return leg.

Also failing to win was Leicester City who had a goalless draw with Czech side Slavia.

Serbian side Red Star Belgrade needed a last-minute headed goal to hold AC Milan to a 2-2 draw while Napoli were upset 2-0 by Spanish underdogs Granada.

Roma was the only Italian side to come away with a win as they dispatched Sporting Braga 2-0.

French league leaders Lille saw a valuable win slip away as Ajax scored two goals in the closing minutes to come away with a 2-1 win.

Scotland's Rangers came out victorious in a frantic 4-3 win against Belgian side Antwerp in a game that saw three penalty kicks awarded.
