CNMI couple looking forward to owning gun

14:36 pm on 1 April 2016

A couple who successfully sued the Northern Marianas to legalise the ownership of handguns, say they are looking forward to finally owning one.

Daniel Guidotti, the counsel for David Radich and his wife Li-Rong, said he advised the couple to remain silent on their reaction to the US District Court striking down the CNMI Weapons Control Act.

However, he said his clients were happy with the results of their lawsuit and were looking forward to acquiring a handgun for their personal protection.

Mr Guidotti said the ruling was in line with the rights granted to the people of the CNMI under the US Constitution.
