A body found in the Ōtaki Gorge this month has been confirmed to be missing man Duncan Hill.
Hill was last seen at his Waihoanga Road home in Ōtaki on 5 October. His body was found on 5 February.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thompson said Hill's family have been informed.
The matter has been referred to the Coroner.
"Police extend their condolences to his loved ones at this difficult time," Thompson said.
Police earlier said Hill's death was not being treated as suspicious.
