Internet technology conference starts in Vanuatu

Top information technology engineers and technicians yesterday started a week-long meeting in Vanuatu's capital Port Vila.

They're participating in the annual PacInet conference with the theme this year of education and the use of internet and communications technology.

Forty delegates from around the region are taking part in the conference which includes specialist speakers from New Zealand, the US and Australia.

In addition, a two-day seminar on MapServer is being conducted as a European Union-funded project for reducing so-called vulnerabilities in Pacific Island states.
