Savea and McMenamin voted NZ players' players of the year

All Black Ardie Savea and Black Fern Charmaine McMenamin have been voted international men's and women's player of the year by their fellow New Zealand professionals.

The loose forwards came out on top of the New Zealand Rugby Players Association poll.

Savea beat out fellow nominees Beauden Barrett, Anton Lienert-Brown, Kieran Read and Codie Taylor, while McMenamin edged Eloise Blackwell, Kendra Cocksedge and Ayesha Leti-l'iga.

Ruby Tui was voted women's sevens player of the year, with Tone Ng Shiu men's sevens player of the year.

All Blacks wing Sevu Reece was voted Super Rugby player of the year, Bay of Plenty utility back Chase Tiatia was named Mitre 10 Cup player of the year and Bay of Plenty wing Emoni Narawa was voted young player of the year.
