A new report has found people are selling potentially illegal products from near-extinct animals on TradeMe.
The recorded advertisements for ivory, a tiger tooth, a stuffed bear and skull, and a stuffed crocodile were potentially illegal, because they did not contain evidence the animals were killed before they were classified as at risk of extinction.
The International Fund for Animal Welfare conducted the survey of advertisements and was surprised by the number of products.
TradeMe says it often checks that before such sales can proceed.
