Lawmakers from the Northern Marianas have added their voices to those opposing a United States bill that would ban cockfighting in territories.
Last week the US House of Representatives voted to support the 2018 Farm Bill, which has a provision to ban "animal fighting".
Those in the CNMI say it would override local laws and doesn't recognise the cultural links with the activity there.
Our correspondent Mark Rabago told Koro Vaka'uta why people in the CNMI don't want it banned.
