Mike Dawson failed to replicate his excellent semi-final performance, missing out on a medal in the final of the canoe slalom at the Rio Olympics.
Dawson went penalty-free for the fifth fastest time in the semi-finals to post a time of 91.47 seconds, but dropped to 93.07 in the final.
He finished 10th overall.
Joe Clarke claimed Great Britain's second gold of the games, winning in 88.53 seconds.
Dawson looked pleased with his showing after completing the course, smiling and giving the thumbs up to the crowd.
The 29-year-old Tauranga canoer competed in the K-1 event at the 2012 London Olympics, where he finished 15th.
