More than 30 firefighters have been called to a large blaze at a foundry in Palmerston North.
A fire alarm in the Milson Foundry alerted the Fire Service about one o'clock this afternoon and the building was evacuated.
The Fire Service said firefighters had to be decontaminated after asbestos was found in the roof.
The fire has been contained and was not being treated as suspicious.
