Sixty four Samoa college students deny brawl charges

15:13 pm on 17 April 2009

64 students of the Don Bosco vocational school in Samoa have restated not guilty pleas to charges of wilful damage, fighting in public place, and stone throwing, in the District Court.

The criminal charges they are facing relates to a school brawl a year ago in which a female college student suffered facial burns as the result of a petrol bomb exploding.

Two other students from the Catholic school are separately charged with attempted murder over the incident.

Meanwhile judge, Vaepule Alo Vaemoa Va'ai, has adjourned the case for a trial in August.
