The relocation of 379 refugees still living at the decommissioned Regional Processing Centre at Papua New Guinea's Lombrum Naval Base on Manus Island has been deferred pending a legal appeal.
The Laywer for the refugees has filed an appeal which will be heard in the Supreme Court today.
An Inter Agency management team held a meeting at the naval base on Tuesday, where it made the decision to wait until the appeal was heard.
PNG police said any further action would depend on the outcome of the appeal.
Earlier the police commissioner said a joint government team would try to convince the refugees to move.
The men have been refusing to relocate to other facilities on the island despite essential services being cut from the centre when it closed at the end of October.
