Fiji's under 20 rugby team has retained its place in the elite Junior World Championship.
The Baby Fijians edged Italy 19-17 in the playoff for eleventh place, relegating the European nation to the second tier Junior World Rugby Trophy.
Fiji coach Sale Sorovaki says they're relieved to have got through a tight encounter.
"This was really a hard game for us, both on the field and especially off the field. The players we have come through two disappointing losses - one to New Zealand and one to Samoa. I take my hat off to the players - we had to play for our existence in this competition and whole credit to our team."
Samoa finished 10th in the same tournament after a 62-28 defeat by Scotland in their final match.
