The Kiwis are world champions and Four Nations title holders but captain Benji Marshall says they'd be kidding themselves if they thought they were better than Australia ahead of Friday's night's rugby league test on the Gold Coast.
Marshall believes New Zealand can only start claiming the favourites tag when they regularly beat Australia.
He says Australia's been the benchmark for international league for the past ten years and the Kiwis haven't won an Anzac Test for 13 years.
