The oldest man to emigrate to New Zealand, Eric King-Turner, aged 104, has died.
Mr King-Turner was 102 when he arrived last year, after marrying a New Zealander in England in 1995.
He died in Nelson Hospital on Sunday after suffering a stroke.
Mr King-Turner was a dentist and a Surgeon Commander in the Royal Navy, serving in South Africa and Singapore, before he retired to the village of Titchfield near Southhampton.
Doris King-Turner says her husband was a keen fisherman and a regular church-goer.
The funeral will be held at St Thomas Anglican Church in Motueka at 2pm on Friday.
