A one-time head of the Northland police drug squad has denied stealing and supplying methamphetamine and cannabis.
Former detective sergeant Mike Blowers entered pleas of not guilty to three drug offences on Thursday in the High Court in Whangarei.
He is charged with stealing methamphetamine from a police exhibits locker and supplying the drug to a woman.
Mr Blowers is also charged with selling cannabis to her.
The police say the offending happened between June 2011 and June 2012.
Mr Blowers appeared in court, represented by the Whangarei barrister Arthur Fairley.
He has been remanded on bail until 28 October to fix a trial date.
