Parliament has backed the creation of a new standalone integrity entity for sport.
The legislation - establishing an independent body to strengthen and protect the integrity of the sport and recreation system - has just been passed under urgency.
The Integrity Sport and Recreation Commission will be an independent Crown entity once up and running next year, with a focus on the wellbeing of participants, including making sure there are better protections and support.
MPs also voted to include a Green Party amendment that ensures representation from the rainbow community, which means that will become part of the new law.
