Police investigators are putting together information from their investigation into the so-called Roast Busters sex group for a legal review, Radio New Zealand reports.
The group comprises 17- and 18-year old males who claimed they had had sex with intoxicated girls, some of them under age. The Wireless explained the case last year.
Last month, Police Commissioner Mike Bush said an investigation would conclude soon.
But Detective Inspector Karyn Malthus said on Monday the police file would go to a legal review. The police would not clarify exactly what that meant. Ms Malthus said any decision relating to a prosecution would not be taken lightly.
