The Earthquake Commission says 5013 claims have been lodged following an earthquake near Eketahuna.
A 6.2 magnitude quake struck on 20 January, east of Eketahuna in the Tararua District.
The Commission says 72 percent of claims are for building damage only.
It says 3300 assessments have been completed, with 234 claims settled and closed, and $958,000 paid out so far.
EQC says it hopes to have all claims assessed by the middle of July this year and all claims settled by July next year.
