Force break duck thanks to former All Black's late drop kick

08:14 am on 3 April 2010

Former Chiefs playmaker David Hill kicked the first drop goal of his Super Rugby career in the 82nd minute to give his new side the Western Force a 16-15 win over the Stormers in Perth.

It's the team's first win in 2010 and first at their new home ground of ME Bank Stadium.

The victory was secured several phases after the siren when the cool-as-ice former All Black stepped into the pocket and calmly slotted from 35 metres out.

A brilliant defensive display by the Force kept the Cape Town side try-less, all their points coming from the boot of Peter Grant, while forward David Pocock scored the only try for the Force. James O'Connor converted that and kicked two penalties before Hill's heroics at the death.
