The head of the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce says they are assessing whether they need to distribute emergency supplies in the country's devastated capital, Honiara.

Unrest erupted last week after a political protest, calling for the resignation of the prime minister, turned violent with the ensuing three days of rioting causing over 200 million dollars worth of damage.

Christine Rovoi spoke with Chamber chair Ricky Fuo'o who says food supplies are becoming scarce.
