13:22 pm on 6 February 2014

There was a distinct Polynesian presence in Wednesday's Super League pre-season match between the Warrington Wolves and Salford Red Devils.

Six past or present Toa Samoa internationals made their clubs debuts in the match, won 14-8 by Warrington in front of just over 3000 home fans.

Former Toa Samoa captain Roy Asotasi turned out for the Wolves for the first time in the front row.

Wing Francis Meli and backrower Tony Puletua made their first appearance for Salford since switching from St Helens in the off-season, while Harrison Hansen joined from Wigan.

Rounding out the Samoan connection at the AJ Bell Stadium were former Newcastle Knights centre Junior Sa'u and Brisbane Broncos forward Lama Tasi.
