NZers concerned about climate change

New Zealanders are worried about climate change but unsure what to do about it, according to the findings of a new survey.

In its report on the survey, the economic and public-policy research group Motu said about 60 percent of respondents were concerned about the effects of climate change on themselves and society.

More than half agreed there was a scientific consensus on climate change.

The report said those who believe it was likely to have a big effect were more likely to reduce their household emissions.

But people who felt powerless to reduce climate change are less likely to do so.
